This Sunday A Midsummers Night's Dream will open at the Old Globe. Friday and Saturday, the La Jolla International Fashion Film Festival will take place at the LOT in La Jolla. Friday (today), the California Center for the Arts in Escondido continues their summer Música en la Plaza series with a performance of Huapango music by Tres Trios . Saturday and Sunday, the Mingei Art Library will hold a Book Sale . Saturday at Liberty Station, the 2nd Annual Filipino American Friendship Festival will take place. A Summer Shakes(perian) Workshop will be held at Liberty Station. The Little Italy summer film series at Amici Park continues with a screening of comedy-fantasy Non Ci Resta Che il Crimine (All You Need Is Crime). Watching films there is really a pleasant way to spend a summer evening. Sunday, the film Encanto will be shown at the Hyatt. Next Wednesday and Thursday, the ground-breaking Japanese anime film Princess Mononoke will be shown at the Angelika Film Center. Next Wednesday at Winston's Beach Club Brazilian-born reggae artist Rafa Pondé will perform. Next Thursday, Latino artists Camilo Séptimo and Francisca Valenzuela will perform at the House of Blues. The San Diego Movie Awards Festival will take place at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park. Next weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), a Latin American Festival & Mata Ortiz Pottery Market will take place at Bazaar del Mundo in Old Town. Next Friday and Saturday, a Heiva San Diego Celebration will take place at the Flower Fields in Carlsbad. At the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park, there will be a two-day Toro Nagashi Festival . Mozart's opera La Finta Giardiniera (The Pretend Gardener) will be performed at Bread & Salt. Indian comedian Zarna Garg will perform at the Laugh Factory. Next Saturday, the San Diego Soul Food Fest will take place on University Avenue (near the 15). The Storytellers of San Diego will present a Benefit for the House of Ukraine at the International Cottages in Balboa Park. Warwick's will host an online talk with author Moshin Hamid who will discuss his book The Last White Man. The Little Italy Summer Film Series will continue at Amici Park with a screening of Oci Ciornie (Dark Eyes) starring Marcello Mastroianni. A multi-media presentation entitled Bob Marley in the Underworld will be presented at the Arbor View Theater in La Mesa. Next Sunday, the House of Italy will host its annual Lawn Program where you can enjoy Italian food, music, and dance. At Salt Drift Pointe in Imperial Beach, Festival Tapatio will be a tribute to Guadalajara and Jalisco with Mariachi, Ballet Folklorico, Tequila, Food & Art. The La Jolla Music Society will present Weekend in Paris: Beg, Borrow and Steal featuring works by French composers.
